Description:

Astapa drewi was described from a single male collected at Yanayacu Biological Station (Miller & Thiaucourt, 2011). It's apparent sister species is A. signata Dognin, from the western Andes of Colombia and Ecuador. The two taxa are separable by wing pattern differences. For example, the FW of drewi is mostly green, whereas the FW of signata shows salmon-colored and reddish brown regions, especially along the anal margin. Male genitalia in the two species show numerous differences.
