Xenomigia noctipenna Miller
Taxonomy:
Similarities in male genitalia suggest that X. noctipenna is a close relative of X. phaeoloma [see Miller and Thiaucourt (2011), Annals of the Entomological Society of America, vol.104: 1033-1077].
Geographic Range:
This species has been recorded in the vicinity of Yanayacu Biological Station (Napo, Ecuador), as well as on the southern slopes of Cerro Sumaco roughly 35 km southeast.
Altitudinal Range:
Xenomigia noctipenna lives in cloud forest habitat within a narrow altitudinal range, between 2200 and 2600 meters.
Foodplant Associations:
Caterpillars of Xenomigia noctipenna feed on Chusquea nr scandens (Poaceae).
