General comments: 

This information is based an ongoing project dedicated to the inventory and dissemination of information on lepidopteran larvae, their host plants, and their parasitoids in a Costa Rican tropical wet forest and an Ecuadorian montane cloud forest.

N=12 rearings as of 2012, 7 eclosed and 5 died.

Larval morphology and behavior: 

Larvae of this species feed on the young, pink-colored leaves on Pentagonia donnell-smithii, before the leaves have matured and changed color. One individual larvae of this species can consume all of the 2-4 young leaves on the plant during the course of its larval development (Each expanded young leaf is approximately 20x30 cm or more).
