Xenomigia phaeoloma Miller
Taxonomy:
The FW pattern of X. phaeoloma is distinctive; no other species exhibits the contrasting, light brown outer margin. The only taxon with which X. phaeoloma might be confused is X. wilmeri Miller, but in that species the FW margin is only slightly lighter than the wing ground color.
Geographic Range:
This species has been recorded from YBS and Cosanga north to Sebundoi, near La Bonita on the Colombian border.
Adult behavior:
Phaeoloma is one of the most common Xenomigia species at Yanayacu Biological Station; adults are typically abundant at light traps.
Foodplant Associations:
Caterpillars of Xenomigia phaeoloma feed on Chusquea nr scandens (Poaceae).
