Taxonomy:The male holotype of Dasylophia mocosa Dognin bears the following data: Ecuador, El Monje, près Loja, 1893 (USNM Type No. 30227).
Geographic Range:Dasylophia mocosa occurs in eastern Ecuador, from Baeza south to Loja.
Foodplant Associations:Caterpillars of Dasylophia mocosa has been reared on Erythrina edulis (Fabaceae).
This information is based an ongoing project dedicated to the inventory and dissemination of information on lepidopteran larvae, their host plants, and their parasitoids in a Costa Rican tropical wet forest and an Ecuadorian montane cloud forest.
